Melanie Crowder's vibrant verse brings life to Clara Lemlich, a young Jewish immigrant who sparked the women's labor movement in the early 1900s. At times harrowing, but often uplifting, the story follows her from Russia to the tenements of New York to the union halls and protests.Melanie Crowder's vibrant verse brings life to Clara Lemlich, a young Jewish immigrant who sparked the women's labor movement in the early 1900s.
