Most American teenagers want a vacation in Italy, but the Bentarrini sisters have spent every summer of their lives with their parents, famed Etruscan scholars, among the romantic hills. Stuck among the rubble of medieval castles in rural Tuscany on yet another hot, dusty archaeological site, Gabi and Lia are bored out of their minds-- until Gabi places her hand atop a handprint in an ancient tomb and finds herself in fourteenth-century Italy. And worse yet, in the middle of a fierce battle between knights of two opposing forces. And thus does she come to be rescued by the knight-prince Marcello Falassi, who takes her back to his father's castle--a castle Gabi has seen in ruins in another life. Suddenly Gabi's summer in Italy is much, much more interesting. But what do you do when your knight in shining armor lives, literally, in a different world?

Cliche, weak main characters, unsatisfying plot. Seriously, Gabi gets fatally wounded twice in a period of about twenty-four hours. And always, Marcello is there to save her... utterly predictable! And as the series go on, the books get increasingly worse. Gabi's fatally wounded, Gabi's engaged, Gabi's kidnapped, Gabi's rescued, Gabi's married, Gabi's pregnant... seriously? Anyway, the best character in the series is Luca (I imagine him looking like Aidan Turner) and he is the reason why I kept reading. Stay far away from these crap books and you will be okay.

Holy. Cow. This is a masterful combination of heart-stopping action, thrilling adventure, frustrating yet beautiful mystery, and achingly complex romance. With an unassuming concept, yet an astonishingly well-put-together plotline, this is the hole in the wall book that you'd never suspect to be so gosh-darned awesome!

Wow this series is the best i have ever read!! It is intense and exciting! The characters are fun and likable. The plot grabs you and you are hooked until the last page of the last book. I have read this series multiple times and with each new time i read it i love it more! i am not usually one to re-read a book cover to cover. i usually just pick out my favorite parts and read those. With these books i have re-read them cover to cover because the whole thing is my favorite part! Each battle/escape are just as intense as the first time reading them, and even though i know whats going to happen i cant put the book down. I recommend this series to anyone who loves a little bit of adventure, excitement, romance, and suspense all in one book.

My all time favourite book, and I have read the series over and over. I never fail to fall in love with the characters...especially Marcello...and still feel the suspense of every battle even if I know how it'll end. I would recommend this book to any teenage girl, and promise you'll enjoy it! The romance is incredible and I love the idea that the main character is a strong female that can hold her own. I also enjoy the fact that it's situated in ancient Italy. A must read!!
