Add a CommentRarely has a book affected me like this, and I've read a lot of books. It's amazing what Grimsley does with his stark minimalist prose, creating vivid characters whose actions and motivations always seem natural and believable, even within the shortness of the story. The love between the two boys is told with elegance and beauty. I couldn't stop thinking about the book after I finished. So much so that it kept me awake for most of the night, tossing and turning, haunted and rather depressed by the sadness of the story.
