This book starts out delightfully, with a very attractive Mr. and Mrs. Darcy. They are bright, funny and very well suited to each other. The descriptions of the times, the people, the settings and the culture are clearly presented and interesting. But after about the first 200 pages, the story becomes ridiculous and falls apart. It descends into magic and spells. I was sorry I spent all that time getting into the story, when it didn't have a more believable ending.
