i am very exited 2 read this book. although im not as exided as i was to read the graphic novle i am still exited

Wretched boring waste of eyeballs.

I do not see how meddling with the classics can be construed as an 'improvement' on them. The additions are clumsy, ill-written, not in the spirit of the author's vision and amounts to an badly-conceived, badly-executed attempt to tittilate modern readers that falls so flat as to be laughable. Though I will say that the smackdowns Elizabeth Bennett deals out to Fitzwilliam Darcy and Lady Catherine De Bourgh are no more or less than they deserve - hence the half-star... As you can see, I didn't like the book.

At first glance last year, I hated the sight of this book. I finally relented and read it (my inner-tween kept kicking the back of my brain; reminding of all the countless R.L. Stine Fear Street Sagas and Christopher Pike novels I had read) I love this book!!! I love the mix of this phemonal classic with the sublimely monstrous. I didn't a lot of the orginal text would have been kept and that if it had been kept it would have been so badly-maglined I would weep. The changing of certain pharses into one about zombies, sparing and the girls exclaiming their skills in mastery of marital arts was expertly done. And the fight between Mr.Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet over how Mr.Darcy had destoryed the happiness of Jane Bennet; I personally thought was better than just the gob-smacking of what was written by Ms.Austen between those two characters before. I expected to be mildy amused with the book... instead I honestly do think it's a very clever work of ficiton.

Adding the zombies didn't really add to the story and the writing wasn't great. The original is much better.

Didn't like this either. Tried to make up for my poor review of Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter by giving another book by Grahame-Smith a try and was equally disappointed. Many parts even seemed like plagurism.

Absolutely horrible. Made me hate the original and at one time I actually liked the original a lot! I read books from a very wide range of subject material and especially all types of humour but, this was just beyond words to describe how bad it actually is so I will stop typing now.

As I am in love with both the classics and Zombies, I found this book quite delightful. The word play of the newer writter mixing with Jane Austen was brillant. It was true to the original, yet with a deadly twist. I recommend you read the original first in order to get a full grasp of what this book is truly doing.

I too love Jane Austen and zombies, but I cannot believe that someone actually made money by inserting zombies at random into the plotline of Pride and Prejudice. You'd think that an infestation of zombies would be a major plot point. You'd be wrong. There was no continuity; you had the original text, a few zombies popped up out of nowhere sporting a radically different writing style, and then the original text resumed. If you find Jane Austen boring, then you will find this book boring - 90% of the text is the original book and the zombies don't play a major role. If you love Jane Austen and think zombies are cool, this book will ruin both for you.
