This book is about the life of First Lady Melania Trump, her birth , life and education background in Slovenia prior to moving to America and pursuing her modeling career. Her business endeavors and later on catching the eye of the future president of the United States Donald J. Trump , and their life together.
If you want a book that puts you to sleep—this is it. And it’s surprising because I read an excerpt somewhere else that was written by Melania, and it made me think I had underestimated her. Judging by this book, I was wrong. To add to this, there were parts of the description of her modeling career that could be “R” rated . . . I’m 75% of the way through, so I’ll probably finish reading it for a lack of better reading material. My suggestion is that Melania write her own memoir as it would probably be much better than this fodder!
Compilation of mostly known facts. No easy to follow flow through the book. Not impressed.
End in sight, Melania!
A very careful, I think whitewashed, assessment of Melania Trump. I happened to read the chapter about how much she cares about kids the same day the tapes came out with her expletive-peppered comments about the caged children at the border. The tone of the book was pretty obsequious, to my ear.
WOW! Melania has incorrectly been portrayed as a victim when in fact, if the information in this book is correct, although she portrays herself in a more outwardly pleasant manner, she chose Trump with her eyes wide open, studying him thoroughly to understand how to be exactly what he'd want, and now is nearly as bad as the Monster in the White House.
If you expect juicy, gossipy stuff here, you will be disappointed. But, if you want to know just a little bit more about woman who made herself best deal ever (or not, time will tell), then this book is for you. Easy, unpretentious, neutral representation of Melania from somebody who might or might not know her better than rest of us. But, many will learn where Slovenia is, (not Siberia), where and what Yugoslavia was, how communist regime was so harsh that her family had independent business and such, etc. The rest can be found in Hello magazines.
To respond to the question about why it is not available for Kindle....that's how I borrowed it from the library and just returned it since I'm done.
Interesting read. There's no definitive definitions of Melania. Her growing up in a communist country was in the back of my mind -- bringing to mind the stories that her husband may be a Russian asset. Is she his controller and that's why she doesn't care about his infidelities? About the horrible stories about him? Or is she really just all about her. She comes across so very Stepford in appearance and manner. People come into her life and when they no longer serve a purpose she moves on as if they never existed.
Jordan tried to do her research and like any reporter she is a good writer.
Okay I confess I was ridiculed for reading this book. So, do I regret it? No! On the contrary I was prejudiced about Melania Trump and the book made me change my opinion. She is not about looks alone. I would go so far as to say that her looks are not her primary asset. She may not be a Michelle Obama but she does know how to handle Donald Trump and makes him a better President. For this at least the country should be grateful to her.
