Add a CommentFreddie the Leaf is a lovely parable, meant to help children with the concept of death. Viewing the world through the lens of a leaf, we experience the surge of growth in the spring, the ease of summer, the cooling of fall and finally, the fall of the leaves, cycle complete. For any child old enough to have observed the changes of the season, this will surely help explain the death of a loved one. I have chosen this to help my three year old granddaughter understand her grandfather's coming death; I think this will be immensely helpful for us both.
Classic story to help introduce death to toddlers.
