this book is totally worth reading or else you don't know what happens in the second book at the beginning

I thought this was a short novella but it's not. It's an sample to book 2 and leaves off in a cliff hanger. The short is well written as are the other books but this novella isn't worth the read I'm sure it's all repeated again in book two. I'm disappointed.
