Neil Gaiman has re-imagined the story of Sleeping Beauty and in true Gaiman style, he has done it beautifully.

This was a great twist on a classic tale. The twists that Neil Gaiman weaves into the story really show off his storytelling ability and the pictures that accompany the story are truly wonderful.

A wonderfully illustrated fairy tale that is part Sleeping Beauty, part Snow White, and part surprising new twists.

Gaiman interweaves "Snow White" with "Sleeping Beauty" in this illustrated short story. This is a tale about waking up; about choosing a story that continues rather than to disappear into the obscurity of a happily-ever-after. Gaiman's haunting story is well complemented by Riddell's black & white illustrations in this -- not a retelling, but a new fairy tale, grown out of old ones.

A dark and lovely retelling of the Sleeping Beauty and Snow White fairy tales, with intricate illustrations included.

I love this book. An exciting new twist on the Sleeping Beauty and Snow White fairytales. I actually think this storyline would make a fun role-playing game one-shot.

Feel that Gaiman can do better but it is still a very good twist on the Sleeping Beauty and Snow White stories.

As often is the case with Neil Gaiman this retelling/mix of Sleeping Beauty and Snow White is beautiful and dark. Lovely illustrations from Chris Riddell complement and enhance the story.

Whimsical illustrations accompany this smart and delightful take on the classic tale of the Sleeping Beauty (with a dash of Snow White sprinkled in). I would say my only disappointment lay in the ending--I wanted much, much more!

The queen felt something stirring in her heart. She remembered her stepmother, then. Her stepmother had liked to be adored. Learning how to be strong, to feel her own emotions and not another’s, had been hard; but once you learned the trick of it, you did not forget.
