HP Lovecraft is an author whose work has inspired huge swathes of comic book history and lore, but whose own work are normally quite difficult to adapt into comic form. Lovecraft's work is dense and his prose is generally only believable within the confines short story genre he preferred to work in.

It thus makes a certain amount of sense that Lovecraft's novel "The Dream-quest of Unknown Kadath" would break the mould and be one of the few adaptations to work as a graphic novel. It does still feel like an adaptation, but it feels like a very good one. The art is spectacular.

The work has weaknesses, but those weaknesses are Lovecraft's not weaknesses of the adaptation. If you like Lovecraft, you will enjoy this.
