This is a great book that complements “How Google Works” by Eric Schmidt. Narrated from the perspective of the head of Google’s of People Operations, the text offers insights on how to build and transform how a company works though its more important asset: its people. Even if you are not into People Operations, I’d recommend you this book to have a different perspective on how to build and develop a team.

Really interesting read. I didn't think I'd like a book about how a company works, I usually like to know about the people who run it and their stories but having the facts and data and analysis is what made it so interesting. They don't just say what they did they show the steps into getting where they wanted to be and the impact it made, saving the failures for its own chapter just to show they aren't perfect. If you want to learn why freedom and choice trumps locking things down and micromanaging this does it in an easily digestible way that doesn't get too bogged down in jargon. the audio book is equally well read by the author as I listened to it to and from work and read the physical book during my lunch breaks.

Very good insight into what one of the more cutting-edge 'People' departments is doing. Some of the programs stem from having the best and brightest, while others are easily transferable to a small to medium sized business. Good, easy read and some valuable takeaways!

An iteration of what I already do on a smaller scale. And while I know the book was about Google, I got a little tired of hearing about it!

Work Rules is written by Laszlo Bock, who is V.P People Operations(HR) at Google. If you always wondered why Google is consistently rated the best employer and why employees rave about Google this is the book for you. Work Rules is a a no holds barred account of Google's philosophies and practices. Any manager who wants to encourage his or her team will find all he/she needs to know in this book. This book will become a classic.
