26 phenomenal American women, some we have heard of (Angela Davis) but many are obscure despite their ground-breaking work - a beautiful little hand book for up and coming activists!

"Who put the poetry in punk rock"? Patti Smith, of course. Learn about her life and other rad chicks in this easy to digest guide written for young feminists.

New favorite! This book was fantastic - I love that it featured such a variety of women, I love that it praised them for their inner strengths rather than skills/talents, and I ADORE the way that the book simply and in a straight-forward manner addresses racism, sexism, homophobia and other social issues. I want to give one of these to everyone I know! Would be a great gift for teachers, a baby shower, a graduation - anyone :D

I am HUGE fan of acknowledging movers and shakers in the feminist arena. My favorite thing about this title? It's hopeful. It looks to the future and sees the historical record for what it truly is: Something to learn from and add to.
