Melted cheese between slices of toasted bread -- the ultimate in comfort food. This mouthwatering cookbook features 39 grilled cheese recipes created by Heidi Gibson, winner of seven grilled cheese championships and the co-owner (with husband Nate) of the American Grilled Cheese Kitchen in San Francisco. The classic Mousetrap is dripping with three kinds of cheese. The Piglet wows with its thinly sliced ham and sharp cheddar. And grilled cheese makes a great breakfast -- just add an egg! With 40 additional recipes for great accompaniments and side dishes -- including hearty soups, many varieties of mac & cheese, spicy pickles, and tangy spreads -- plus tips on choosing the best bread and cheese and techniques for grilling each sandwich at just the right temperature, anyone can create the perfect grilled cheese sandwich.

Is it time to eat yet? Are you ready for the ooey gooey melty goodness of a grilled cheese, but want something a little different? There are a number of recipes in this book that I am ready to try: Huevos Rolando, the Pizza-wich, BBQ Chicken Mac, and the Mozzarella, Pesto, and Tomato Mac.

As we get a bit older (and I'm talking to you Gen X and Y kids!) we seem to crave the flavor of our angelhood and, of course, grilled cheese has to be at the top of that list. Here's the thing: your palate has definitely changed since you chomped down Gummi Worms and microwave burritos at the old Stop N Glop after school but the allure of drippy cheese between toasty bread is just too much of a memory jaunt not to ignore. This book here, "Grilled Cheese Kitchen", is what you need to fulfill that adolescent flashback but satisfy your, shall we say, more "advanced" way of eating these days. Tons of inventive and playful recipes, great photos, easy to follow instructions and the chef/authors are cool enough not to offend any 4 Star eaters or that kids that used to chew on his scabs at recess after falling off the swings. Definitely worth a check out and you have to try The Mousetrap and Sunday Brunch. Oh. My Goodness!
