Even by b-movie maestro Roger Corman's low standards, this nonsensical horror movie is pretty bad. But, if you're a Corman fan, there's plenty to enjoy, including Boris Karloff, a young, insecure Jack Nicholson, an evil bird, and cheap sets and effects. Second unit work was done by Francis Ford Coppola, Jack Hill ("Foxy Brown"), Monte Hellman ("Two Lane Blacktop") and Nicholson himself. Parts of the film were used in Peter Bogdanovich's first feature, "Targets," which starred Karloff as an aging horror movie star.
