Not bad. Kinda reminds me of silly bumbling Pink Panther type humor.

The script was written based on the very average audience. So, just another average commercial movie. Nothing about Arts in this movie except a few artist names, such as Monet & Picasso, being mentioned. The movie tried to be funny but not really. Just barely entertaining.

I loved the 1966 movie by this name and expected this one to be a waste. I'm glad I checked it out though. Fun movie on all counts. Takes nothing and loses nothing insofar as the 1966 Gambit

Not up to the Caine and MacLaine original. Colin Firth can do comedy, but is not at his best forced into slapstick. Diaz just does her "good-time girl" schtick, and the occasional flash of intelligence comes out of nowhere. Nice ending, but by that time you want Rickman (who is not used to fullest extent) to have been more severely ripped off.

Here we have the Coen brothers having fun, this time by writing the screenplay for this bit of froth. Spot the opening visual references to 'No Country for Old Men'. See Colin Firth got up to look like Michael Caine in his 'Harry Palmer' roles. See Alan Rickman as an English version of Donald Trump, splendidly detestable and vulgar. See Cameron Diaz as, well, Cameron Diaz. And so on. A predictable plot, but with some good lines, this qualifies as an entertainment, so long as you are in the mood.
