Not much travel here. Nearly every chapter goes over how wonderful the writers husband is and relates every day accounts of her personal life. I found it a struggle to finish.
5:30 am Sunday morning. Can't sleep, too cold to get up. Reach for phone to keep reading this book. Burrow under covers so screen light doesn't wake husband. Start laughing til I cry, tears running down my chin making my t-shirt soggy, trying to silently pound phone into bed instead of guffawing out loud. Thanks, Geraldine, for a great start to my day!
Geraldine DeRuiter's memoir about her life as a "travel" blogger is extremely funny, very clever, well written and well constructed. Every chapter is an epiphany for the writer and the reader. "All Over The Place" reminds me of Emma Beddington's, "We'll Always Have Paris", just not as personal. If you love language, and a good laugh, you'll love this book.
