I've read the comments already attributed to this book and can say that I wholeheartedly do not agree with them. This book is sexist and totally weird. I love murder mysteries and have read quite a few with the murderer as the primary protagonist but this one is not realistic. Why would detectives on this case not consider that someone on their 'patch' was closely (meaning someone working on the premises) monitoring their investigation? I love reading authors from other countries so I thought a NZ author might be interesting but not this guy!!!!

The beginning captured my interest immediately as it seemed to be a twist on the detective/thriller genre. This novel is told from the killer's point of view, but in a most unexpected manner and tone. Chapters alternate between two characters, but are easily distinguished as to who is telling the tale. I would be interested in sampling another novel to see if the writing style is the same.

The first half of the book was a bit slow, but really laid the premise of the story. Couldn't put the book down as I neared the end and was totally blown away by how this book ended. 7 out of 10 stars for me.
