Yet the boys embrace their new friend, forming a unique bond based on shared adventures, secrets and mischief. Ultimately, the realities of war even find them.

A war occupation seen from the point of view of 3 twelve year olds. There is an interesting plot but just as interesting is the dynamics of the Dutch citizens--some in secret resisted, while others collaborated for their own self interest. The kids often protected by not knowing about resistance, but ganging up on one another. Great cinematography and acting.

What a wonderful sweet movie. Nice to see young kids playing young kids in a believable manner. A movie for all ages.
