This box-set of four linked stories features Sir Derek Jacobi as the incarnation of the Master who fought in the Time War. Last seen the 2007 episode "Utopia", Jacobi reprises the role of the renegade Time Lord known universally as "The Master". These stories are well written, well acted and just work really well. I really enjoyed the Eighth Doctor: Time War 1 set, but this is even better. Jacobi plays the Master with the suave, gentlemanly air that we got with Roger Delgado's Master as opposed to crazy mania of the John Simm Master. Taking a companion in the second story, who the Master uses through the rest of the boxset. While the third story is the best in my opinion, all the stories are quite well done. On a side note, Jacobi also stars in third story of the Gallifrey: Time War Volume 1 boxset (not in WCLS) which takes places between story one and two of this set. All said, this is an amazing set and definitely worth it for fans of the Master and Derek Jacobi.
