Lidia is definitely a capitalist, with her chain of restaurants and eateries, in the USA and Italy. She continually speaks of family and love yet she divorced her husband in 1997! It is an easy read.

Lidia's experiences as a refugee and immigrant are highlighted and I think would provide much encouragement for those who are going through similar relocations and life changes. I'm not quite sure how her ambition and work ethic would have fared if she'd stayed in Istria, but it certainly helped her succeed in America. She shares a lot of information about food and wine that is enlightening. It's an easy read and well worth the time.
