The subtitle of this work could be "Hey Donald, whose your daddy?" This solid investigative reporting delves into the Russian attack on democracy during the 2016 election in the USA, and succeeds in illuminating the extent of this intrusion. Trump's cozy relationship to Putin is clarified and the impact of this relationship on international geo-political posturing by the US president established. The work also portrays the ineptitude of the Democrats, and Obama's White House in face of this attack. The day after I finished reading this book, Julian Assange was arrested in the UK. I swear I heard the Democrats cheer.

i read this book last August in Mexico and everything in the book is now being reported on in the MSM, its incredible. The Steele Dossier, the origins of the Russian investigation, Felix Sater and his ties with Trump (Sater will speak to the House on March 14 2019), Donald Trump's ties to the Russian Mafia. Incredible investigative work.

Excellent reading and a real-life page turner filled with jaw-dropping investigative research which includes dates, names, locations and purposeful intentions. Whether you believe these reports or not, there is credible evidence for explaining why President Trump is encouraging a relationship with Russian and President Putin. It’s all about money and business. Be aware this book is not politically-biased - former Secretary Hilary Clinton and President Barack Obama’s actions have added to the volatile political climate.

A delusional work of the new Democrat McCarthyism.
--- The authors blame Putin for Russian law against leading children into homosexuality, for opposing US world domination, and for suspicious poisonings of three Russian traitors in England (one lethal), per accusations by Perfidious Albion propagandists.
--- In condemning Russian wickedness vs Anglo/American virtue, the authors condone Western devastation of Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, and Yemen, killing 1,000,000, traumatizing 100,000,000, and flooding Europe with refugees. WE did this -- not Putin. The authors condone our official policy of "targeted assassinations" and our slaughter of Pakistani civilians with drones. They forget our many covering lies: "We know where they are," Rumsfeld re Saddam's non-existent WMD. "A mushroom cloud" may be next, Rice. "In 45 minutes" Saddam could strike London, Blair. "Better to fight the terrorists there than here," Bush (no terrorists in Iraq till we invaded).
--- Like other Dem writers, the authors assume that Trump and Putin, both evil, must be in league. Trump did business in Russia and complimented Putin; that confirms his guilt.
--- (The authors acknowledge $2,975,000 Russian payoffs to the Clintons, mainly re shadowy Uranium One deal. Hillary bought false tales re Trump from a Russian source, and Obama's FBI used them as an excuse to spy on Trump's campaign. Bill Clinton quietly visited Moscow in 1969. Doesn't all that make the Clintons likely Russian operatives?)
--- The authors reason that DNC emails must been hacked by Putin agents (not by murdered DNC worker Seth Rich, nor by Bernie people who had earlier hacked Hillary's voter lists, nor by anyone else. Dems withheld the hacked server from FBI examination; we have only the word of a firm they hired that signs of Russian intrusion were found.) The resulting revelation of Hillary's corruption tricked the voters into choosing Trump. Otherwise they would surely have picked the widely hated Hillary.
--- This was a diabolical manipulation. Voters had no right to the truth. Hillary had them fooled till Putin interfered. She had pulled the wool over their eyes, and he had no right to remove it. But for Russian meddling, Hillary's deceptions would have prevailed and she would now be president. Oh, the tragedy! Oh, the Russian wickedness!
--- What a lot of nonsense! Trump has major faults, but the Russians didn't make him president and don't control him.

RUSSIAN ROULETTE is a story of political skullduggery unprecedented in American history. It weaves together tales of international intrigue, cyber espionage, and superpower rivalry. After U.S.-Russia relations soured, as Vladimir Putin moved to reassert Russian strength on the global stage, Moscow trained its best hackers and trolls on U.S. political targets and exploited WikiLeaks to disseminate information that could affect the 2016 election.

The Russians were wildly successful and the great break-in of 2016 was no "third-rate burglary." It was far more sophisticated and sinister -- a brazen act of political espionage designed to interfere with American democracy. At the end of the day, Trump, the candidate who pursued business deals in Russia, won. And millions of Americans were left wondering, what the hell happened? This story of high-tech spying and multiple political feuds is told against the backdrop of Trump's strange relationship with Putin and the curious ties between members of his inner circle -- including Paul Manafort and Michael Flynn -- and Russia.

This is a lot of information and it probably could've been done in two books rather than one. I liked the narrative quality of the book as it acts more like someone speaking to you rhetorically. Like, "hey, what's going on," while also adding new information.

It also shows the scatter-brained problems that have resulted from Russian influence on the election. While I hoped for more continuity, I can certainly understand why it's been done the way it was done: this was no typical narrative, easy to read and be done with it.

It is somewhat critical of the Democratic party and the Obama administration, but at the same time shows that it was perhaps inevitable and that there was little they could do--except, perhaps, make it worse. And, of course, like many books published in the past year, the notes are very shoddy and limited; I'd like to see a more comprehensive list of sources though I did like the direct links that people can easily access.

For what it's worth, it's a good book and worth reading especially if you're interested in the Russian angle as I've read other books that provide similar, yet not so detailed information, (thinking of Comey's book).

The text lives up to the billing suggested by the title. A rare combination of Russian manipulation, Comey's ineptitude, Obama's timidity, Trump's cunning & Hillary's urge to run around stirring up apathy led to the shocking--yet somewhat predictable--result. A superb book with a fascinating fly-on-the-wall insight.

The Fourth Estate is alive and well as shown by this comprehensive book which explores the people and events associated with Russia’s meddling in the US 2016 Presidential Election. Balanced and well-written by investigative and veteran journalists Michael Isikoff and David Corn, RUSSIAN ROULETTE reads like an intriguing spy novel, but unfortunately it’s all too true. No matter your politics, RUSSIAN ROULETTE puts the news from the last 2 years into context and helps one understand the bigger picture.

This book, a compilation of events leading to and including the 2016 presidential election, written by two investigative national journalists, gives the fullest journal of events of Russian and American collusion to hurt Hillary Clinton and to help Trump win the 2016 election. Americans born in the 21st century do not remember the awful effects of living under communism and fascism, and they do not recognize that Trump has no concept of democracy and that he will go with any system that brings him maximum praise and maximum financial gain. Americans growing up after mid-20th century realize that the fact that Roy Cohn and Vladimir Putin are Trump's biggest heroes, is a clue that American democracy is now under existential threat.

Excellent coverage and detailed info on all the Russian fingerprints that were left after this election. This had been going on for sometime and our government was too naive to realize the depth that Russia would go to. We have just been too naive to understand the dangers Russia presented.
