But she's in a foul mood after breaking up with her boyfriend and has been so wicked that uber-demon Jerome decides to 'outsource' Georgina to a rival - and have her spy for him. When characters act avariciously, with less honour than they normally have in previous books, then that is fantastic character development. We all have times in life where were are not honourable people, where our feelings have been hurt and we don't use healthy healing habits. Maybe we eat too much, party too much, become bitchy, and so on. Here Georgina becomes the bad girl who gets sent out of town because her behaviour is less than stellar. So wrapped up in her hurt feelings, in having to give up the guy yet again, she becomes selfish and takes advantage of the opportunity to sleep with him when the moment arrives. Several characters reveal different aspects of themselves, keeping me engaged the entire time.

Due to my endless love for Mead this sorta breaks my heart. I did not love this book. There were moments where I was in Mead heaven, dancing about in glorious awesomeness and then my bubble was popped.

I'm not naive that I don't think there is going to be smut in a book with the name succubus in the title. However, in the previous book Mead was really good about not going to that dark dirty place. I liked that it didn't become just a smut fest of kinky stuff. With this book she leaped past that line. I didn't like who Georgina had become and I'm sure Mead wrote it that way to show how much our beloved Georgina has been affected by the loss of Seth but it still just hurt.

Though, there were some brilliant scenes when all the immortals realize that they are mortal for a duration of time. Those were probably my favorite scenes. I just could've done without some of the other stuff.

Really hoping that with the next book Mead goes back to the stuff that made me love this series. I'm all for growth and breaking characters I just didn't think the over description was really required.
