After his younger brother commits suicide, Kyle decides to get revenge on the girl he thinks pushed his brother off of the edge. Cass McBride. He kidnaps her, puts her in a wooden box, and buries her alive. He then begins the torture. He wants Cass to pay for what
she's done. He may not be able to bring his brother back, but he can do the next best thing...

Ben, a police officer, has faced reports of kidnapping before, but this case seems different. As he finds himself running into dead ends, he becomes more and more desperate and realizes that Cass is in danger. He knows he's running out of time...

Cass has always gotten everything she could ever want. Spoiled rotten by her rich father, she's been living on top of the world. Now she's buried under six feet of dirt. Someone she barely knows wants to destroy her. She doesn't know what will break her first,
the box or his words. But even the most powerful weapon can be used against you. Cass has been taught well, and if she uses her words correctly, she might just make it out of her wooden prison alive...

This novel is split into three different points of view, and at first it was kind of confusing when it came to knowing when the events in the story were happening, but as the book goes on, this is made clear. The chapters are short, and have an urgent feel to them, and I could not stop turning the pages. I wanted to know about Kyle’s motive, Ben’s mental turmoil, Cass’s thoughts as she lies helpless. I wanted to know everything. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a quick read that you will find yourself thinking of long after you’ve set the book down. On a scale of 1-5, I would rate this book a 4.5.
