This is a fun interactive story that is great for a group. The children can help the reader by following the directions on the page. They can pretend to move the book as the storyteller does, and help to balance the number and size of the birds so that both sides are equal. A great classroom book for showing the concepts of size and weight and quantity.

I have mixed feelings about this book. On the one hand, the illustrations are cute, but on the other, it's visually very busy.

I think if the subjects of the pictures didn't fill the pages *quite* so much, it wouldn't be as bad, but they do and they do it in a way that it looks like attempts were made to eliminate as many possible blank areas in the picture as possible.

Content-wise, it's a good execution of concept, but the crowded depictions kind of hurt the clarity.
