This two-volume reference presents biographical and historical information on U.S. presidents, for middle and high school level students. The major section opens by placing the presidents in the context of U.S. history, listing the individuals chronologically together with brief descriptions of the era in which they served. Next, a table presents the presidents in the order in which they served, along with information on birthplace, education, religion, occupation or profession, political party, age at inauguration, years of service, date and age of death, runner-up, and vice-president. Finally, the biographies, which are approximately 6-9 pages long, present a fuller picture of the life and time of each president. Each contains a color portrait, color and b&w photographs and reproductions of art works; boxed summaries of events from that president's administration; a fact box giving details such as birthplace, occupation, and number of votes gained; and a "Treasured Words" section revealing special things each had to say.
