Born in 1945, singer, songwriter, musician, Van Morrison (birth-name George Ivan Morrison) grew up in Belfast, North Ireland.
A 6-time Grammy Award winner, Van Morrison's often-imitated musical style and specialized vocal techniques have clearly been a great influence on many musicians over the years, including the likes of - Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Graham Parker and Bob Seger, to name but a few.
Released in 1970 - Moondance (a mix of soul, jazz and pop) would be Van Morrison's 3rd studio album and it proved to be a huge commercial and critical success on both sides of the Atlantic. Moondance is considered by many to be one of the all-time top 100 albums in rock'n'roll history.
This CD contains 10 tracks in all. 3 of my very favourite tunes are - And It Stoned Me, Into The Mystic, and Come Running
Side one the record included the first 5 songs and is one of the best sides of music in this classic period of rock and roll. Van Morrison's greatest album.
