To say that singer/songwriter/instrumentalist, Stevie Wonder (birth-name - Stevland Hardaway Morris) was in absolute top form here with "Songs In The Key Of Life" would be an understatement like no other.

Released (through Motown Records) in 1976 - "Songs" would be Wonder's 18th album and it certainly proved to be one of his very best-selling, worldwide, with sales exceeding well over 10 million copies.

This album is a great combined mix of soul, R&B, and pop music.

"Songs" is a 2-disc set, containing 20 tracks in all. Two of my favourite songs are, of course, "I Wish" and "Sir Duke".

g-o-o-o-d god what a masterpiece. stevie was riding on top of the world when he perceived the world's reaction to this monolith of soul-talent. it eclipsed anything the rock world could bring to bear against it. even the likes of Elton john stood in stevie's shadow. he could have retired just on the strength of this one alone. he didn't need to keep going. all the jive white people were into it, in a way they never got into Earth Wind and Fire. If it hadn't been for the Beegees, Stevie would never have been dislodged from the top of the charts, and our hearts.
