The writer tries to share what she has learned in life and her love of cats. What she doesn't mention clearly is that though her cats were there for her, she wasn't always there for them.
Honesty is hard and she does clearly explain why (and I think rightfully so) she has done her best. The relationship stuff with her men wasn't that interesting to me but likely will be for those who partnering is a must in their life.
In this memoir, Piercy comes across as tough, combative, honest, committed and real although unusual.
