Any person in a committed relationship should check out this book. It's not a depressing view on marriage--far from it--just a very realistic view, with a bit of humor put in, too.

I loved this book! Gaffney is sensitive to the intricacies of middle-aged relationships and life-changing decisions. Written from the perspective of the three main characters, we see the thought processes behind what they do, their hesitations, things not said, false assumptions, etc.. She balances a respect for marriage as well as for individual growth -- so refreshing in these days of the quick divorce. In addition, this book mirrored (in a number of ways, if not in exact expression) some things my husband and I have experienced. This made the book very cathartic for me. Loved it, loved it, loved it!

When Dash leaves Andrew, her husband of twenty years, after an argument over a stray puppy she realizes she can now do whatever she wants, if only she knew what she wanted! This wry novel tells the story from both Dash and Andrew's point of view.
