I just love this guy so much. I can't help but care for these characters. I REALLy want him to develop self respect and demand it from others. I REALLy want his superior to stop drinking.. etc. Why is this genre so effective? police work with a side of humour?
sadly the second dvd insisted on not being recognized by my computer, so I was unable to watch the final episode.
This is the first one I have picked up and I was bored within a few minutes. I suppose I should have started with series 1 instead of series 3.
I just finished watching these. It's the first set of the series I've seen. I enjoyed guessing the real culprit & could do so at least halfway through. I do not understand why the main character is having trouble with his marriage even though I also saw the first show, too. His wife is a bit weird in that she acts like everything is his fault. I want him to get a house of his own so he can keep his huge dog there instead of having to go back to his wife's house. The guy is brilliant when searching out the truth of crimes, so why can't he earn enough to buy his own house? He can't seem to find any way to forget his wife and wants her back. He can't find a way to make her happy.
I do enjoy this series. 1) the characters evolve; 2) it's gentle. Even the villains are people , not twisted caricatures; 3) the scripts are good; and lastly, its British, so the actors are good, not self conscious like so many actors in American TV
I've watched the whole series and enjoyed every episode!
