A pollyannish movie about cross cultural relationships. An ultra-conservative Muslim brother oppresses his female family members for 80 minutes. Then in the last 10 minutes, a Walt Disney ending where brother sees the Western light, unshackles the women, and accepts his 40 year old sister's and his niece's relationships with 'foreigners' aka christian guys. Then they all get together to dance in the living room and live happily ever after! Really! They all dance in the living room! Silly. All that's missing is to show the brother eating a pork sandwich.

Couldn't get into this one unfortunately, the acting is not good enough for me, the characters seemingly not sincere, not completely believable. Very difficult to get this right I'm sure, but not a success in my view.

Interesting film about cross-cultural love and family expectations. \\ Also nice to see Toronto unabashedly portrayed as Toronto, rather than a stand-in for some American city.
