Most of book covers knives:
types and purpose
knife cutting technique
honing technique

A few other non-electric tools are discussed like shellfish crackers, sieves, etc.

Pictures are very helpful.

America's Test Kitchen and others have books with well researched reviews of more complicated tools (from mandolin slide graters to food processors) if that is what you wish to know more about.
