VERY GOOD 1944 musical comedy film based on Cole Porter Broadway show about three whack cousins who inherit a Texas plantation. My, that Vivian Blaine, who I just recently discovered and am now checking out her work, is one beautiful, talented, dancing redhead. Phil Silvers is quite humorous as the male cousin who sings a funny comic version of 'Shortening Bread', Carmen Miranda gives her typical whack performance. Short, curvy, brunette Sheila Ryan was another new find for me and I will be checking out more of her efforts.
Overall, quite entertaining with a fun show at the end where they try to raise money for using the mansion as 'army wife' housing.
And there is an excellent extra - a bio of Carmen Miranda - which is well worth watching.
