Don't waste your time with this very outdated movie. It drags along with very little conversation. The conversation they do have is so inane, that we quit watching it soon after it started.

While not quite as rich as the Toibin novel on which it is based, The BL is a good film, featuring rock solid performances from a handful of excellent actors (Dianne Wiest, Gina McKee, Angela Landsbury). Also starring is the gorgeous Irish coast and countryside. Just the kind of lush, well played & slightly sentimental fare expected of "Hallmark Hall of Fame" pics (of which this is one).
Best viewed on a cold night, snuggled up with a blanket & warming drink.
