Interesting story, well written. However, it seems that Eve Duncan is not the primary character in this story. Catherine Ling is the main character. Took away from the books we are use to reading about Eve Duncan.

I like the Eve series and yet sometimes it can be so aggravating spending so much time on the same old same old. Yes she is obsessed by her daughter's death, yes Joe wants to protect her, yes she will do whatever she darn well choices. Much time is always spent going over the same thing. Supporting characters tend to always act the same way book after book. Sometimes you can tell a good author by how different each character and each plot are book after book. She isn't a bad author. Just predictable most of the time.

Not as intense. Very predicatble as arwdkj said. I actually bored with the first day reading it already. I say 2 stars only. Too regular of a book.

Preposterous plot and the characters are cardboard.

Johansen's books are always good and a fast read. However they are predictable. The next one might be the last of this series?

Johansen strays farther and farther from the realm of believability with each new Eve Duncan book. It seems that the author wants to take the characters in 17 different directions all at once, and the attempts to make Eve and Joe Quinn the nexus of National Security, Counterterrorism, Forensic Science, Paranormal Connections, and European vigilantes are stretching believability to the breaking point.
