As a retelling of the "princess and the pea" this book is well done. The cross over of the other princesses from other stories was awkward and didn't match up with the other stories. Focusing only on Violet it is a good story with a little more depth and interest than the average fairytale.

I absolutely adored this Princess and the Pea retelling. The romance was very sweet, and Violet is a very intelligent and courageous young heroine. Their was also a side of mystery to the tale which kept me on the edge of my seat. A must read for all the fairy tale lovers out there, as well as a good read for any preteen girls.

Great book! I loved the change from the original fairy tale story. It was a wonderful book, but a bit to rushed. It was also a bit unrealistic, like when the grass actually cut one of the girls feet, or when the girls actually bandaged their heads because they had a hair pulled out. the characters were also a bit under developed, but other than that it was good.

this book was amazing!!!! the author did an amazing job of developing the characters over time and i was really able to picture an ordinary farm girl who became a princess, and i could also picture those violet eyes. i think the most romantic part was when Prince Richard would send Violet secret messages via his dog.
one of the funniest part was during one of the tests. when the contestants had to walk across the grass to see which princess had the most sensitive feet. Violet took little red tomatoes( i think) and rubbed them across her feet to make it look like blood.

By far one of my favorite books from the 'Once Upon A Time..." series. The loveable story of 'The Princess and the Pea' with an amazing twist. I reccomend this book if you like teen-romance novels.

I think this book is okay..it seemed like there was sort of a repetition in this book from others that I have previously read before, but the competition in the book was really deep and insightful, I was really impressed. Overall, the book was good and recommended.

"The first time Richard had kissed her, standing in the field, his lips, had been soft, the kiss gentle. This time it was intense. The onslaught made her gasp. She wrapped her arms around his neck and clung to him."

"I promise I will do anything I can to help you" Violet said. It wasn't much but it was all she had to give. In her heart, Violet knew that a week's time might find her back on her on her family's farm, castles and gowns and princes a distant memory, like a dream of someone else's life.

When he spoke, it was no more than a whisper. "Is it me?" Richard asked. Their faces were only inches apart, and the question shimmered in the air between them.
