Gripping to the very end. Well read and very moving.

This was an enjoyable story to listen to while jogging. There's enough action and events to keep one's mind away from sore legs and/or distance covered.
All in all, this is probably a fairly average legal thriller with lots of details. I don't usually read this genre so I can't really say. I thoroughly enjoyed the story (although it's so sad and unfair at times).
I truly hope that the legal system doesn't run this sloppily in real life or play around with people's lives in the way that Donte's life was fooled around with.
A good, interesting read.

This was not a satisfying read for me. Bored with much of it & already versed in the debate which did not alter my views. Not his usual interesting twists.

Good story, though I found the book dragged on way too long after the climax. Good reader.

A real "page turner" Makes a wonderful case against the death penalty or better said, for more proof---absolute proof.

Grisham blasts Texas for their needle happy ways. This story also shows how police departments play fast and loose with our system to get a conviction and thus votes for the sheriff, mayor, govenor, etc. It seems no one is to "blame" when they wrongfully convict and then execute because they were doing their job and the quality of their performance doesn't mean anything. It gives me goose bumps to think how our wonderful system can be perverted so easily.

It started off a little slow for me, but when it picked up I couldn't put it down. Good read!

This novel picks up steam after the first quarter and doesn't stop. It's about Texas and faulty capital punishment attitudes and actions that permeate the state, claiming innocent and mentally unstable victims. A very good novel. 9 of 10 stars

I enjoyed this book. Starts off pretty good, a little on the slow side in the middle, but ends on a high note.
