I cracked up at seeing Colin Firth in his first role at 24, but beyond that, I wasn't very impressed. And the ending was so overly dramatic I started laughing, though that may be how Dumas wrote it. The line on the DVD cover, "The World's Greatest Romance," definitely falls flat; better to find a truly tragic love story like Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, Antony and Cleopatra, Carmen and Escamillo, or Romeo and Juliet (if love tragedies is your thing).

Beautiful, authentic period costumes and props. The story is a tragic love story and keep you interested.

Thisis a mockery of Dumas' "La Dame aux Camelias." Badly acted. Do not waste your time.
