The book was well researched. Willig did a really good job at giving us a sense of time in history. I really enjoyed the details she inserted into the story. I did not realize the Pink Carnation was a series. Without any knowledge of it, the story worked as a standalone. The performance of Kate Reading was skillful. Her male voice did not have the forced low that pops the listener out of the story. Her creations of Laura and Andre were as natural as I can imagine. And her French added a rich layer to the enjoyment of the story. Highly recommended.
