One of the most gripping tales of new motherhood in a foreign country. I found this book impossible to put down and highly recommend it, mainly to women readers. The way Douglas Kennedy is able to understand and articulate the post partum difficulties of a new mother is done in a very convincing way. Another fantastic writer who, like Carol Shields and Richard B. Wright, is effectively and believably able to cross the barrier to the other gender.

Terrible book! A total waste of time that I will never regain! Please save yourself the aggravation. The story is completely unreal - the characters unbelievable, the plot just plain stupid. The whole post partum thing was very upsetting and unrealistic.
