This is a 1945 American drama film directed by Michael Curtiz, based on the 1941 novel "Mildred Pierce" by James M. Cain. This film reminds me of the seemingly "love-triangle" murder that took place in 1958. Cheryl Crane, the daughter of Lana Turner stabbed Turner's lover Johnny Stompanato to death. I wonder if Cheryl Crane watched the film. I find similarity between the film and the case, although a coroner's inquest concluded that Crane had acted in self-defense.
