This book had all the ingredients of a thriller but somehow the mix didn't work; at least it didn't do it for me. Gabriel Allon, the chief of Israel's secret intelligent services is a larger than life leading man; however, the other characters were not upto par. Allon hunts for his most important asset inside Russian intelligence and his quest in time leads him and us, his readers backward in time. I thought it was a waste of almost 500 pages.
