This was just ok for me. In fact, I would venture to call it Clancy light. There were quite a few glaring inconsistencies throughout and Ryan Jr. does far too many unprofessional things that an individual with his training would never do. This book's Jr's forte is hand to hand fighting, and it is there where he shines. The earnest attempt by the author to clarify Balkan politics and explain the complexities of Balkan history is well done, as well as his presentation of state of the art techno weaponry and targeting capabilities, but that doesn't make up for the holes in the storyline or the predictability of both plot and outcome.
