Very interesting and insightful. My only concern is why the author used " anima and animus" interchangeably with "SOUL?" Was he unaware of why Jung used these terms to describe the SOUL? Animism (breath, spirit, life) is something that ANIMALS possess. Non humans do not possess a Soul. Freud defined the psyche as the ID (Infinite Mind), the Super ego (one's make up, personality, DNA history) and the ego, the so-called mediator between the ID and Super ego. When the physical body passes away only the Soul reminds ( ID, Super ego). Non humans do not possess an ID. Did the author know this? Of course, everyone is entitled to their opinions.
