During an absolutely terrible time in our history, one young German boy copes with the reality of Nazism. Fully indoctrinated into the Nazi way of thinking - including his imaginary friend, Hitler - Jo Jo meets a Jewish girl who has been hidden in the attic by his mother. Hitler and Nazism say that Jews are monsters. JoJo proceeds to interview her, so he can write a book for Hitler describing the monster Jews' culture and habits. JoJo has many relationships; the girl, his mother the resistance worker; his father - missing or killed in France; his imaginary Hitler; a German leader and trainer of boys and girls for the Brown Shirts and Gestapo. Conversations with the girl and his mother open JoJo's eyes to the hard reality of WWII. During a difficult time, JoJo has developed ways to cope with the reality of the time. A very good movie.
