Emily and her husband Sandy Portman live a gracious and happy life in the famous Dakota building in NYC. But one night on the way to meet Emily, to confront her with the fact that he wants a divorce, Sandy dies in a tragic accident. Emily is stunned when she discovers that her marriage was made up of lies. Angry, hurt, and betrayed by loving memories of the man she lost, Emily finds comfort in a scruffy white dog named Einstein. Sandy is granted a second chance, as his soul now resides in Einstein, adopted by none other than his wife. The story is his struggle to become a better person by trying to help his wife sort out her life. I adored little Einstein with his man's soul who made me laugh out loud. It was the cover that made me reach for this book - a perfect light read; different, a little quirky and emotionally satisfying, perhaps a cross between chick-lit and a Jodi Picoult read.
